WHAT IS THE PROCESS

                                  A Fire Safety Plan (F.S.P.)

What are the main steps in the process?

  1. Call, text, or email us the building's address. Let us know if you have any existing floor plan. (always helpful)

  2. We will review it in our office and request any additional information if needed, and see if we can provide a quote from the drawings and information provided, if not, than a site visit may be required first.

  3. After we agree on the quotation, we will need a contact person to make an appointment for a site visit (usually we need an access to all service rooms in the building to prepare floor plans - we do not bother residents/tenants in their suites). On rare occasions, we may also prepare a plan without a visit if you have up to date plans of each floor of the building. (Need to verify locations of fire extinguishers, pull stations etc.)

  4. If applicable, our visit in a building takes from less than 1 to 4 hours, depending on the size and complexity of the building.

  5. After the site visit or upon receiving your previous plans and information, we prepare the fire safety plan in our office, and we submit it to the fire department who has the authority in the building's area. They will than send use a confirmation letter when approved.

  6. If the fire inspector has any comments or concerns that need any corrections, we will correct the plan (no additional fee of course) and we will be in touch with him/her until the approval.

  7. Once the plan is approved, we will Print it out on to a 11x17 clear Poly that is durable and professional looking and install them in the proper locations.

  8. One hard copy of the approved F.S.P. shall be given to the emergency person in the building and one copy left in the fire safety plan box in the vicinity of the main entrance to the building together with the keys to main service rooms for the fire department to enter. The main door keys will be in a KNOX BOX outside the building that only the fire department can access.
